SOME VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WITH LOWER STEERING SHAFT ASSEMBLIES CONTAINING COUPLING RIVET PINS THAT WERE NOT STAKED. THIS COULD RESULT IN ONE OR BOTH PINS WORKING LOOSE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF STERRING CONTROL. ALSO SOME STEERING SHAFT ASSEMBLIES MAY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WITHOUT A METAL REINFORCEMENT BETWEEN THE RIVET PINS AND THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE FLEXIBLE COUPLING. THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN TEARING OF THE RUBBER FLEXIBLE COUPLING PRODUCING A NOISE OR LOOSE FEELING IN THE STEERING SYSTEM.
