INSUFFICIENTLY TIGHTENED TIE ROD END NUTS COULD PROGRESSIVELY LOOSEN AND BREAK OFF THE COTER PIN. A SMALL NUMBER OF THESE AXLE ASSEMBLIES MAY ALSO CONTAIN TIE ROD TUBES THAT ASRE ONE INCH SHORTER THAN SPECIFIED. EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS COULD ALLOW THE TIE ROD TO BECOME DISENGAGED FROM THE STEERING ARM. THIS COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
