"excerpt": "Evenflo Champion, Ultara, Scout, Ultara Premier. Published by Transport Canada as 1994129 on 9 August 1994. System: Seats And Restraints. What the notice says The plastic sleeve positioned immediately above the metal tongue can tear, split or the stitching can release which causes the plastic sleeve to slide down the top of the buckle tongue. this makes the engagement of the tongue into the buckle difficult and could create a false latch situation. correction: consumers … Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at Transport Canada , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. THE PLASTIC SLEEVE POSITIONED IMMEDIATELY ABOVE THE METAL TONGUE CAN TEAR, SPLIT OR THE STITCHING CAN RELEASE WHICH CAUSES THE PLASTIC SLEEVE TO SLIDE DOWN THE TOP OF THE BUCKLE TONGUE. THIS MAKES THE ENGAGEMENT OF THE TONGUE INTO THE BUCKLE DIFFICULT AND COULD CREATE A FALSE LATCH SITUATION. CORRECTION: CONSUMERS SHOULD CONTACT EVENFLO AT 1-800-689-4434 AND EVENFLO WILL PROVIDE AN INSTRUCTION SHEET ON HOW THE PROBLEM CAN BE RECTIFIED. Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published. The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers",
