"excerpt": "Itasca Sunstar, Winnebago Vista, model year 2011. Filed by Winnebago Industries, Inc. and reported to NHTSA on 1 September 2010. 99 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Winnebago is recalling certain model year 2011 vista and itasca sunstar motor homes manufactured from march 16, 2010 through august 12, 2010. these vehicles may have the potential for a cable that powers the slideout room to make contact with the driveshaft when the slideout is retracted. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Winnebago's own number for this recall: 117. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 10V390 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “IF THIS CABLE MAKES CONTACT WITH THE DRIVESHAFT, IT COULD WEAR THE PROTECTIVE JACKET AND INSULATION OFF THE CABLE EXPOSING THE CONDUCTORS TO THE DRIVESHAFT AND ELECTRIFYING THE CHASSIS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.” 10V390 WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.
