"excerpt": "Altec Ac18, Altec Ac23, Altec Ac38, model years 2008 to 2011. Filed by Altec Industries Inc. and reported to NHTSA on 3 February 2012. 18 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Altec is recalling certain model year 2008-2011 ac38 and model year 2011 ac18 and ac23 utility vehicles, equipped with an anti-two block (atb) switch tree guard option. the atb tree guard switch bracket may have been installed incorrectly. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Altec's own number for this recall: CSN 556. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 12V041 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “IF THE BRACKET WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, THE COMPONENTS COULD BE DISLODGED WHEN THE BOOM IS RAISED TOWARDS THE MAXIMUM ELEVATION AND COULD CAUSE THE ATB SWITCH, COVER, AND WEIGHT TO FALL, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY TO PEOPLE OR PROPERTY…” 12V041 ALTEC INDUSTRIES INC.
