"excerpt": "Chevrolet Cruze, model years 2011 to 2012. Filed by General Motors Llc and reported to NHTSA on 22 June 2012. 53,239 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says General motors (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011 and 2012 chevrolet cruze vehicles manufactured from october 2, 2009, through may 14, 2012. attachment welds for the fuel tank strap secondary brackets may have been omitted. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls General Motors's own number for this recall: 12133. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 12V289 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “THE FUEL TANK COULD COME LOOSE IN A CRASH, POSSIBLY ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE TANK. A FUEL LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.” 12V289 GENERAL MOTORS LLC Fuel System, Gasoline:Storage:Tank Assembly:Mounting 22 June 2012 2011-2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE THE FUEL TANK COULD COME LOOSE IN A CRASH, POSSIBLY ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE TANK.
