"excerpt": "Keystone Cougar, model years 2010 to 2012. Filed by Keystone Rv Company and reported to NHTSA on 26 July 2012. 1,012 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Cougar 26SAB and 29RES recreational vehicles manufactured from October 5, 2009, through October 24, 2011. The rear bumper, which holds the spare tire assembly, may experience metal fatigue causing the spare tire to separate from the vehicle. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Keystone's own number for this recall: 12-178. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 12V355 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “Over time, the bumper may fail and/or separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of personal injury and property damage.” 12V355 KEYSTONE RV COMPANY Structure:Body:Bumpers 26 July 2012 2010-2012 KEYSTONE COUGAR Over time, the bumper may fail and/or separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of personal injury and property damage.
