"excerpt": "Ducati 1199 Panigale, model years 2012 to 2013. Filed by Ducati North America and reported to NHTSA on 10 August 2012. 2,411 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Ducati is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 1199 Panigale motorcycles manufactured from March 16, 2012, through July 12, 2012 . Due to an incorrect assembly tolerance, the Uniball bearing on the damper rod eyelet could slip out of its seat on the Ohlins steering damper. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Ducati's own number for this recall: RCL-12-006. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 12V399 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “The steering damper can detach from its mounting point which can lead to loss of control of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.” 12V399 DUCATI NORTH AMERICA Steering 10 August 2012 2012-2013 DUCATI 1199 PANIGALE The steering damper can detach from its mounting point which can lead to loss of control of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.
