"excerpt": "Meritor Front Non Drive Steer Axl, model year 9999. Filed by Meritor, Inc. and reported to NHTSA on 19 February 2015. 402 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Meritor, Inc. (Meritor) is recalling certain Front Non-Drive Axles, model numbers FH941, FH945, and MFS12155 manufactured July 25, 2014, to December 5, 2014. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Meritor's own number for this recall: C15AB. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 15E012 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “If the castellated nuts are not properly torqued, the tie rod may not be adequately secured, resulting in a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.” 15E012 Meritor, Inc.
