"excerpt": "Kia Sorento, model year 2016. Filed by Kia Motors America and reported to NHTSA on 14 July 2015. 2,587 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2016 Kia Sorento vehicles manufactured October 23, 2014, to December 10, 2014. The affected vehicles have a front passenger seat belt whose buckle latch assembly may prevent the front passenger from fastening the seat belt. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Kia's own number for this recall: SC123. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 15V446 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “If the front passenger seat belt cannot be latched, an occupant sitting in the front passenger seat has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.” 15V446 Kia Motors America Seat Belts:Front:Buckle Assembly 14 July 2015 2016-2016 KIA SORENTO If the front passenger seat belt cannot be latched, an occupant sitting in the front passenger seat has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
