What the notice says Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with a power locking tailgate and either a 5 foot, 7 inch or 6 foot, 4 inch bed. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Ram's own number for this recall: U74. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 18V486 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “If the tailgate latch releases and the tailgate opens while driving, cargo may fall out, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.” 18V486 Chrysler (FCA US LLC) Structure:Body:Tailgate 27 July 2018 2015-2017 RAM 1500, RAM 2500, RAM 3500 If the tailgate latch releases and the tailgate opens while driving, cargo may fall out, creating a road hazard and incr",
