"excerpt": "Western Star 4700, Western Star 4900, model year 2019. Filed by Daimler Trucks North America LLC and reported to NHTSA on 5 March 2019. 361 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2019 Western Star 4700 and 4900 trucks. The vehicles are accumulating distance in kilometers, but the odometer display is labeled as being miles. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) … Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Western Star's own number for this recall: FL-812. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 19V171 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “The odometer failing to register the correct distance travelled could cause driver confusion, as well as possible incorrect assumptions about driver speed. An incorrect speed assumption may increase the risk of crash.” 19V171 Daimler Trucks North America LLC Electrical System:Instrument Cluster/Panel 5 March 2019 2019-2019 W",
