"excerpt": "Mertz Custom Trailer, model years 2008 to 2018. Filed by Mertz Manufacturing, LLC and reported to NHTSA on 11 March 2019. 475 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Mertz Manufacturing, LLC is recalling certain 2008-2018 custom trailers. Plastic junction connections may have been installed in the air brake circuits. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, \"Air Brake Systems.\" Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Mertz's own number for this recall: M18-098. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 19V195 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “If a plastic connector fails, a loss of service brakes will occur or the emergency brakes will activate unexpectedly. Either condition may increase the risk of a crash.” 19V195 Mertz Manufacturing, LLC Parking Brake:Conventional:Air 11 March 2019 2008-2018 MERTZ CUSTOM TRAILER If a plastic connector fails, a loss of service brakes will occur or the emergency brakes w",
