What the notice says Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling certain 2019 J3500 and D4505 buses, and 2018-2019 J4500 buses equipped with Transpec T287x Series glass roof hatches. Temperature and vibration stresses may cause the tempered glass roof hatch to shatter. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Mci's own number for this recall: SB 471. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 19V344 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “If the tempered glass roof hatch shatters, glass fragments may fall onto passengers, increasing the risk of an injury.” 19V344 Motor Coach Industries Visibility:Sun/Moon Roof Assembly 3 May 2019 2018-2019 MCI D4505, MCI J3500, MCI J4500 If the tempered glass roof hatch shatters, glass fragments may fall onto passengers, increasing the risk of an injury.
