"excerpt": "Kawasaki Er400d, Kawasaki Ex400g, Kawasaki Ex400h, model year 2021. Filed by Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. and reported to NHTSA on 11 December 2020. 1,770 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. (KMC) is recalling certain 2021 Z400 ABS (ER400D), Ninja 400 (EX400H) and Ninja 400 ABS (EX400G) motorcycles. The strength of the camshaft chain tensioner may be insufficient due to improper heat treatment, possibly causing it to be damaged. Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Kawasaki's own number for this recall: MC20-13. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 20V774 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “A damaged camshaft chain tensioner can cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.” 20V774 Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A.
