"summary": "Remedy reworded 3 Sep 2026. Recall 26V552 (Jayco): Referencing the incorrect weight could result in the trailer being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.",
"excerpt": "Heartland Bighorn, model year 2027. Filed by Jayco, Inc. and reported to NHTSA on 28 August 2026. 8 vehicles potentially affected. What the notice says Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2027 Heartland Bighorn recreational trailers. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the certification label may be incorrect. As such, these trailers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 567, \"Certification.\" Is your vehicle included? Check with your VIN at NHTSA , or ask a dealer. This page is an independent copy of the notice, kept so you can see what changed after it was published. It is not the authority, and the authority’s own text is the one to act on. CarsMultiverse / Recalls Jayco's own number for this recall: 9901666. That is the number on the owner letter and on the dealer paperwork. 26V552 is the number NHTSA gave the same campaign, and the number this page is filed under. They are one recall, written two ways. Answered from the register this site holds. NHTSA is the record to act on. Owners of this vehicle were written to on 1 September 2026. The remedy was reworded on 3 September 2026, 2 days later, so the letter described the earlier version. Read both versions. What the authority says can happen if this is not fixed: “Referencing the incorrect weight could result in the trailer being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.” 26V552 Jayco, Inc.
