Concern

Steering assistance may be lost

Defect, as DVSA words it

Two LEDs are used to calculate torque applied to the steering wheel. If the ECU senses a discrepancy in the torque sensing circuitry an indicator lamp is illuminated in the instrument cluster a diagnostic code is stored and steering assist is no longer provided. The driver will have to supply more effort to steering the vehicle.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and re-programme the steering ECU. The steering will then be tested. If the vehicle fails the test a new torque sensor will be fitted.

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference, because DVSA lists none for this recall. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.
