Who runs this site, how it is paid for, and what that means for what you read.
Who publishes it
CarsMultiverse is an independent website. It is not a government agency, a safety authority or a manufacturer, and nothing here replaces the official recall notice. To act on a recall, use the official register for your country: NHTSA (United States), Transport Canada, DVSA (United Kingdom), EU Safety Gate, RDW (Netherlands), MLIT (Japan) or the Ministry of Transport (Israel).
CarsMultiverse is published by A.I.T. Multiverse Consulting Ltd, a company registered in Nicosia, Cyprus. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any vehicle safety authority, any manufacturer, or any dealer.
How it is paid for
The site is free to read and needs no account. It is paid for in four ways, every one of them outside the record. Advertising served by a third party and labelled as advertising, placed under a notice and never inside it, and never beside an instruction to stop driving. Affiliate links, marked as such, under a notice: the price you pay is not changed by them, and they never decide which recalls appear or how a notice is described. Sponsorship of a register, which is a named line on that register’s pages. And licences and watches sold to companies, described on work with us.
Whoever pays is named on how this is paid for, which is counted from the site’s own records rather than typed, from the day the arrangement starts. Until those sources cover the costs, the work is funded by the company that publishes it.
What nobody can buy
No manufacturer, dealer, insurer or authority has paid for, reviewed, or been shown any page on this site before publication. No party outside the company has the ability to add, alter or remove a record. If that ever changes we will say so on this page, dated, before it takes effect.
Data and sources
Our sources are named on every page that uses them, and the underlying files are linked so that anyone can check our reading against the original. Where we publish a dataset of our own it is offered under a Creative Commons licence, described on the open data page.
