The figures on CarsMultiverse are compiled from official and public sources for general information. They are not tax advice, financial advice, or a quotation.
Vehicle taxes and fees depend on details we cannot know about your situation: the exact model and emissions figure, your region, the registration date, your driving record, and reliefs you may qualify for. Insurance premiums vary widely by driver. Our comparisons use a fixed reference vehicle precisely so that countries can be compared, which means they will not match your own car exactly. The methodology page explains every assumption.
Before you commit money, confirm the current figures with your national vehicle registration authority, tax office, and your own insurer.
We correct errors when we find them, publicly, on the corrections page, but we cannot guarantee that every figure is current at the moment you read it. Each data page carries a verification date; treat that date as the limit of what we’re claiming.
Calculators on this site produce estimates from the values you enter. Change the inputs and the output changes, that’s the point. They are planning tools, not appraisals.
Our datasets are free to reuse under CC-BY with attribution to CarsMultiverse and a link. Directory listings on the live map are drawn from public data (OpenStreetMap and partners) and do not imply endorsement or verification of any business.
Legal information, penalties and enforcement
Some pages on this site describe the law, the grounds on which a clean-air-zone penalty may be challenged, the deadlines that apply, and how a fine issued in one country may be enforced in another. That material is a summary of published statutes, EU instruments and enforcing authorities’ own guidance, with the source named and the date we read it.
It is not legal advice, and we are not lawyers. Penalty law is jurisdiction-specific, it changes without notice, and any real case turns on facts we cannot see: the notice actually served, the date of service, and what is printed on it. Where a deadline on this site differs from the deadline on your notice, your notice governs.
Before you rely on anything here to challenge, pay or ignore a penalty, confirm the current position with the issuing authority, or take advice from a lawyer qualified in the jurisdiction concerned. We accept no liability for any decision taken on the basis of information published here.
Quoted material and licensing
Where we quote a source we attribute and link it at the point of use. UK legislation is reproduced from legislation.gov.uk under the Open Government Licence v3.0. This site contains public sector information licensed under that licence. EU legal texts are quoted from EUR-Lex; only the version printed in the Official Journal is authentic. Short passages from other authorities are quoted for identification and comment. Everything else is our own summary rather than a source’s wording, and where a figure is our arithmetic rather than a published number we label it on the page.
Corrections
If you believe something here is wrong, out of date, or quotes your material more than you are comfortable with, tell us through the contact page and we will correct or remove it. We would rather be told than be right by accident.
