Transport Canada carries this recall as 2023057, dated 13 February 2023. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 23V070, dated 10 February 2023. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 23S06.

The two registers are 3 days apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 23V070, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, there could be a loose bolt inside the transmission. As a result, the bolt could move and block the parking pawl. If this happens, the parking pawl may not engage when you shift to park, and the vehicle could roll away if the parking brake isn't used. rnNote: You should always follow the parking procedure in the owner's manual and set the parking brake each time that you park. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA parked vehicle that moves unexpectedly could create a risk of a crash or an injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFord will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the transmission.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2023057.
