Both registers carry the same date for this defect.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 25V489, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain hybrid trucks, the seat belt reminder chime may not work when you start the vehicle and your seat belt isn't buckled. Canadian regulations require both a seat belt reminder sound and visual telltale when a driver is not wearing their seat belt. rnNote: This recall only affects certain hybrid trucks equipped with a 3.5 L engine.rnrnSafety Risk: rnA seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFord will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the audio head unit software.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2025394.
