Transport Canada carries this recall as 2024212, dated 4 April 2024. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 24V919, dated 10 December 2024. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 202401.

The two registers are 250 days apart: the Canadian entry is dated first, the American one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 24V919, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain livestock trailers, the ram and pulley system for raising and lowering the livestock deck(s) could fail. As a result, the deck(s) could drop suddenly. This could cause the trailer to become unstable while towing. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA trailer that suddenly becomes unstable while towing could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a deck that drops suddenly could increase the risk of injury. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnSoudure Brault will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact the company to inspect and, if necessary, replace the ram and pulley system. To mitigate the safety risk, Soudure Brault advises you to always use the safety pins when the decks are raised.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024212.
