CARSMULTIVERSEWatch a recall

Transport Canada carries this recall as 2017014, dated 10 January 2017. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 16V834, dated 17 November 2016. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, RC000123.

The two registers are 54 days apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 16V834, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

On certain motorhomes, an opening in the wall of the compartment that houses the keyless entry module could allow for moisture to enter the compartment. If moisture were to enter through the opening, it could contaminate the keyless entry module, potentially causing an electrical short, which could result in the wiring to melt, smoke, or lead to a fire, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will seal the opening in the compartment wall with expanding spray foam.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017014.
