TRUCKS BUILT BETWEEN OCTOBER 15, 1978 AND DECEMBER 11, 1978. VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH CERTAIN TRACTOR PROTECTION VALVES THAT CONTAIN AN EXTRA CHECK VALVE. THIS MAY PREVENT THE TRAILER BRAKES FROM FULLY RELEASING AFTER A LOW PRESSURE APPLICATION THEREBY CAUSING THE TRAILER BRAKES TO DRAG. LTHIS MAY REDUCE THE OVERALL BRAKING EFFICIENCY AND IMPAIR VEHICLE CONTROL.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1979100.
