A REVERSE ELECTRICAL CURRENT FLOW THROUGH A WIRE CABLE BETWEEN THE AIR RECIRCULATION SWITCH AND A MICRO SWITCH COULD OCCUR. THIS MAY CAUSE OVERHEATING OF THE AIR CIRCULATION SYSTEM FAN RESISTOR, CREATING THE RISK OF FIRE. CORRECTION: A WIRE CABLE WILL BE DISCONNECTED TO PREVENT OVERHEATING OF THE FAN RESISTOR.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989103.
