TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES, CERTAIN GASOLINE ENGINES AND FRAME MOUNTED BATTERIES. VEHICLES MAY HAVE THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MIS-ROUTED SUCH THAT THE CABLE IS EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT. THIS CONDITION MAY DAMAGE CABLE INSULATION AND SHOULD THE DAMAGED CABLE CONTACT NEARBY BRAKE LINES, THE BRAKE LINES COULD BE DAMAGED TO THE EXTEND THAT THEY WOULD LOSE BRAKE FLUID.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1980013.
