Issue: rnOn certain aerial devices, the cap at the end of the hydraulic cylinder could fail. If this happens, the boom lift can drop suddenly.rn rnSafety Risk: rnA boom lift that drops suddenly could create a risk of injury to the operator and nearby people. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnAltec Industries will notify owners by mail and instruct you to inspect the boom lift cylinders for an externally threaded cylinder cap (head gland) and to confirm the part number. If your lift has one of these cylinders, you can continue use the boom lift with restricted articulation until the cylinder(s) are repaired or replaced.
