THE MONITER PANEL, TV ANTENNA BOOSTER, FURNACE AND RADIO CONVERTER MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY FUSED AT THE CONVERTER AND BATTERY. THE TWELVE VOLT CIRCUITS WERE CONNECTED BY A 30 AMP FUSE WHICH DOES NOT PROVIDE PROPER PROTECTION FOR THE 12 AND 14 GAUGE WIRES. IF SUCH WIRES WERE TO SHORT CIRCUIT, A FIRE COULD RESULT. CORRECTION: WIRES IN THE CONVERTER DISTRIBUTION PANEL WILL BE RELOCATED TO A FUSED CIRCUIT.
Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1989019.
