On certain vehicles the Power Distribution Box was manufactured with insufficient torque applied to the nut of the main power feed-through stud. Insufficient torque on the subject nut could lead to: 1) electrical arcing of wires inside of the PD Box or, 2) an interrupted power supply to the vehicle's electrical system. Either of which could lead to a loss of vehicle electrical power and possibly vehicle control without warning. Correction: The vehicles will be inspected and the nut on the main power feed-through stud will be tightened to the proper specification.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2002019.
