On certain vehicles, there may be three possible air brake problems. 1) Due to improper installation of the parking brake chamber end cap, water may enter causing corrosion of the power spring, leading to spring failure. 2) Due to improper end cap attaching screw dimensions, water may enter causing corrosion of the power spring, leading to spring failure. 3) Due to improper tightening of the end cap attaching screw, water may enter causing corrosion of the power spring, leading to spring failure. Any of these problems could cause the parking brake to engage while the parking brake lever is in the released (off) position. Correction: Dealers will inspect and repair or replace as necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2006220.
