On certain ATVs, the rear sprocket retention bolts may loosen during vehicle operation, allowing the sprocket to partially or fully detach from the hub. As a result, the sprocket could catch the A-arm and cause the rear wheels to lock-up, possibly leading to a loss of vehicle control and a crash with serious personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a bolt retainer plate assembly.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2008026.
