Certain Tahoe Police Patrol and Special Service vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The vehicles may have been equipped with device that allows the daytime running lights to be disabled while the engine is running and the vehicle is in gear for use in undercover patrol purposes. Correction: An engineering change has been undertaken to prevent this technical non-compliance condition from recurring. No corrective recall action is required as the technical non-compliance conditions are deemed to be non-safety related.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015431.
