SOME VEHICLES BUILT NOVEMBER 1974, MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH ONE OR MORE FR74 X 14 STEEL BELTED RADIAL TIRES THAT WERE UNDERCURED, DUE TO AN EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION IN PRODUCTION. WHERE THIS EXISTS, IT CAN CAUSE LOCALIZED OVERHEATING DURING USE, RESULTING IN SEPARATION OR CRACKING, OR BOTH, IN THE LOWER SIDEWALL AREA OF THE TIRE. CONTINUED USE COULD RESULT IN RAPID AIR LOSS WHICH, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND POSSIBLE VEHICLE CRASH.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1975034.
