THE BOLT ATTACHJING THE PITMAN ARM TO THE STEERING GEAR SHAFT MAY HAVE BEEN INSUFFICIENTLY TORQUED. IN ADDITION, THE RETAINING SET SCREWS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED OR WERE NOT FULLY SEATED. THESE CONDITIONS WOULD CAUSE THE PITMAN ARM TO SEPARATE FROM THE SHAFT AND RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1984041.
