THE FRONT WHEEL HUB, WHEN USED WITH HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES AND HUB MOUNTED DISC WHEELS, MAY DEVELOP CRACKS AT THE WHEEL MOUNTING STUDS. THIS COULD LEAD TO FATIGUE CRACKS IN THE HUB. SHOULD SUFFICIENT CRACKS OCCUR, THE MOUNTING FLANGE PORTION OF THE HUB ALONG WITH THE WHEEL MAY SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF OPERATOR CONTROL AND/OR THE SEPARATED WHEEL AND HUB COULD STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE, PEDESTRIAN OR PROPERTY.rnCORRECTION: NEW REDESIGNED HUB WILL BE INSTALLED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1996048.
