On certain trucks, the certification label does not contain the correct Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The label may indicate that the vehicle's load capacity is higher than the designed weight rating. As a result, the vehicle could be overloaded without the operator's knowledge. A vehicle in an overloaded condition may be susceptible to component failure that may result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Dealers will install updated labels.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007355.
