On certain golf cars, personal transportation, and specialty vehicles, the accelerator pedal return spring may break. If this happens, the accelerator would not return to the home position when released, so the vehicle may not slow without use of the brakes, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the accelerator pedal spring with a new stronger type.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018557.
