On certain fifth wheel trailers, the Federal Identification Label and the Tire & Loading Information Label do not contain correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), tire size and inflation pressure values. The labels indicates a GAWR capacity of 6,000 lbs but instead should read 5,080 lbs. They also indicate a tire size and maximum inflation pressure of 235/80R16E at 80 psi, but should read 225/75R15D at 65 psi. Loading the vehicle beyond the actual GAWR could result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles along with instructions for proper installation.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2008458.
