TWO DOOR MODELS. FATIGUE CRACKS MAY OCCUR IN THE DOOR LOCK PILLARS AT THE FRONT DOOR LATCH STRIKER REINFORCEMENT ATTACHMENT LOCATIONS. THE FATIGUE CRACKS MAY PROPOGATE TO THE EXTENT THAT THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DOOR LATCH STRIKER ATTACHMENT MAY BE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED CREATING THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE DOOR MAY NOT BE SECURELY RETAINED. THIS CONDITION IS OBSERVABLE BY VISIBLY NOTICEABLE CRACKS ON THE DOOR LOCK PILLAR ADJACENT TO THE STRIKER ASSEMBLIES.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1983060.
