On certain school and non-school buses, an electrical short could occur in the crossing arm circuit or the 8-way warning light circuit, causing the MOSFET (a heavy duty transistor with built in circuit protection) to trip, resulting in an inadvertent engine shutdown. Non school bus Vision conventional buses are being included in the recall population to eliminate the ready accessibility of this ignition sensitive circuit to post delivery accessory additions. Correction: Dealers will relocate these circuits to a separate circuit protected by a breaker on school bus units with crossing arm and/or 8-way warning light. On non-school bus units, the hot wire from the body connector to the terminal block will be removed.
