On certain Cadillac limousine, the front lower control arm balljoint to steering knuckle attaching nuts may not have been tightened to specifications. Under certain conditions, this could cause the nut to back off, resulting in separation of the joint. If joint separation were to occur while the vehicle is in motion, it would affect directional control which could result in vehicle crash without prior warning.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1983063.
