Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection and (CMVSS) 209 u2013 Seat Belt Assemblies. The front seatbelts may have been installed in the wrong position (interchanged left/right sides). This could affect the locking behavior of the seatbelts which would increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Additionally, the child seat restraint function for the passenger seat would not be available for this situation. Correction: Dealers will inspect and correct the installation position as necessary.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015465.
