On certain Volvo 740, 760 and 940, the seatbelts for the auxiliary seat are designed to be routed under a diagonal cross brace during fastening. The labeling which instructs the user in the proper routing is inadequate. As a result, the belt may be routed over the brace, and this may make it possible for the belt to be inadvertently released. Correcton: Proper instructional labels will be installed on seats. In addition, new buckle assemblies will be installed.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1991075.
