Issue: rnOn a small number of fire trucks, there may be a defect in the rear axle drive pinion that could cause it to break. If this happens, the air brake line could be damaged and cause the parking brakes to apply suddenly. rnNote: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with certain 180-series Meritor axles. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, if a following driver does not recognize when a vehicle ahead is braking, there could also be an increased risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnE-ONE will notify the owners by mail and arrange an on-site axle pinion inspection. The differential carrier housing assembly will be replaced, if necessary.
