Issue: rnOn certain buses, the U-bolts that attach the rear axle to the suspension could break. As a result, the axle could slide on the leaf spring and/or detach. This could cause poor handling and lead to a loss of control. rnNote: This recall only affects certain buses built on GM chassis and equipped with supplemental leaf springs. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA loss of control could create the risk of a crash. An axle that detaches could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnMicro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the leaf spring U-bolts and screws.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2025179.
