Certain vehicles may have been built with reduced corrosion protection on the left rear under body ladder rail. This could cause the affected area to corrode prematurely, which could result in the left rear seat mount to become loose or reduce the strength of the rear floor pan, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupants in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will inspect the under body ladder rail and apply rust protection, or if deemed unrepairable, FCA will review further.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018181.
