MEDIUM AND HEAVY-DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH BUDD CO. FORGED ALUMINUM WHEEL HUBS INSTALLED ON 9,000 LB., 10,800 LB., 12,000 LB. AND 13,500 LB. FRONT AXLES. BUDD CO. HAS DETERMINED THAT A DEFICIENCY EXISTS IN THE BARREL SECTION OF THE HUB, BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER BEARINGS, WHICH MAY RESULT IN CRACKS AND ULTIMATE FAILURE OF THE HUB. CONTINUED OPERATION COULD ALLOW THE HUB, WHEEL AND TIRE TO SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE CAUSING A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.
