On certain motorcycles, the rear brake line and rear brake hose may be susceptible to abrasion. Either of these conditions could result in brake fluid loss. Should this occur, the rider could experience loss of rear braking capabilities. Loss of rear braking could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning. Also, the positive battery cable could contact the battery carrier which could cause the engine to stall or quit and result in a possible crash without prior warning. Correction: Rear brake line will be replaced and the rear brake reservoir hose will be inspected and replaced if necessary. Positive battery cable routing will be inspected and corrected if there is any sign of contact.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1999185.
