On certain buses equipped with seat belts for the passenger seats, the outer casing of the seat belt buckles may fail, slide down and uncover the buckle mechanism. The exposed seat belt buckles may reduce the seat occupants likelihood of using the seat belt, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the rigid passenger seat belt buckles with flexible buckles.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018187.
