主制動装置のブレーキシューを拡張するエキスパンダのウェッジ部の構造が不適切なた め、当該シューのブレーキライニングが使用限度を超えて摩耗した状態又はシューギャッ プが大きい状態で使用した場合、当該ウェッジ部のローラがタペットを乗り越して外れる ものがある。そのため、当該ウェッジの作動が不能となり、ブレーキシューの拡張ができ ず制動力が低下し、最悪の場合、制動不能になるおそれがある。What is to be done about it
全車両、当該ウェッジ又はエキスパンダを対策品と交換する。 なお、対策品が間に合わない場合は、ブレーキライニングの摩耗状況とシューギャップを 点検し、基準を超えているものはブレーキライニングの交換やシューギャップの調整を行 い、後日、対策品が揃った時点で交換する。The two passages above are quoted in Japanese because that is the language the ministry published them in.
